Galaxy Forge is a WYSIWYG editor, so placing planets, phase lanes, stars and more is as easy as a few clicks of the mouse. Do you want a multistar map with strategic choke points and no pirate base? No problem, just create it in Galaxy Forge and load it in the game. You can build a map to your exact specifications. However the amount of mapmakers for this game is too small for anyone to be interested in doing that, since there is a place for them already on WinCustomize.Part of the Forge Tools suite used by Ironclad Games to develop content for Sins of a Solar Empire, Galaxy Forge is a map editor tool that allows you to place stars, planets, travel lanes and more. There is nothing steam could do for that, best that could be done is to set up a sort of steam workshop for maps. That way you can tell your friends "Hey lets try this new map I made!" and they do not even have to leave the gaem. What you really want is for maps to be transfered to other players before a match starts online. Stardock/Ironclad already partner with Steam for the online game access, right? Couldn't it be done to allow GF sharing? than of course being steam, you can send links to people, allow friends to also have it, name people for credit, etc. When you have a project you want to share, for Beta testing, or saving on Steam cloud, or what, you upload from program, and can control privilidges on Steam for mod for others. but Sid Meier's Civilization has it's own Mod program as well, called SDK, which includes different types of mod programs, but are all managed by one program called Mod Buddy, whic connects with steam. I know different games are made differently, so i hate to bring up another flavor of Strategy on here. that allows users to transfer their mod files from their own GF up to steam for sharing and trading!
